The cardinal points
The cardinal points are north, south, east and west.
The Sun rises in the east and sets in the west.

The Earth’s rotation on its axis
The Earth is a sphere that rotates on its axis. The axis goes from the North Pole to the South Pole.
The Equator divides the Earth into the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere.
