Honoring
Father Michael
After serving Saint Rose Parish
with his patient care,
Fr. Michael will be moving to St.
Joseph in Madison. He will
especially be helping with the
Hispanic community there and
perhaps in other parishes as
well. We know how well suited
he will be for that ministry. Fr. Michael has offered
his gentle and warm pastoral presence throughout
the parish, and he has been particularly instrumental
in the incorporation of our Hispanic community into
the full life of Saint Rose Parish. We literally could
not have done it without him! Although Fr. Michael
has not served in the parish for many years, he
definitely leaves a legacy for Saint Rose. We are
grateful for his service and for his presence here,
and we can understand that his talents are needed
and recognized in his newassignmentas they have
been here at Saint Rose.

SOLIDARITY
There is certainly a lot of noise and confusion on the
surface of the world right now. We see a lot of anger and
division inthe news. Down deep, however, we need to find
unity. It is always there. Despite our differences, we are
more brothers and sisters than anything else. And now can
be a time to discover our unity in a very visible way.

Can you think of any external thing that has affected the whole world the
way the coronavirushas? Literally, everyone in the world is having to
deal with this same thing. Everyone's life has been changed by this. We
are together in this experience. Why isn't it bringing us together in
compassion and understanding for one another?

Let's come out of ourselves. This situationis not about me. It is about
us...all of us. If we can understand unity in the experience of the
coronavirus, then maybe we will be open to seeing the unity that binds
us alwaysin our common humanity. There is a term for this in Catholic
Social Teaching. It isSolidarity.

SOLIDARIDAD

estatuas siendo derribadas, pongamos
una: ¡una estatua de San Martín de
Porres! Hace tiempo que tengo en
mente que una estatua de San Martín
de Porres sería muy apropiada para
nuestra Iglesia de Santa Rosa de
Lima. Vea, Santa Rosa y San Martín
eran contemporáneos en Lima y
ambos eran miembros de la Orden
Dominicana.
Una
estatua de San Martín agregaría otro
aspecto de la universalidad de la
Iglesia a las imágenes que tenemos en
nuestra parroquia.

Estoy en consulta con un escultor que
ha realizado obras increíbles para
parroquias en nuestra diócesis. Pronto
podré transmitir su visión de la estatua.
¡Avíseme si desea ayudar con este
proyecto!
