TEXT 1

James: The most popular member of the most popular band at present… Do you know his name? …

Of course, he’s HENRY SHINE, the lead singer of “Three Minutes” … and he’s HERE,

visiting us TODAY! Hi, Henry, welcome to Radio 321!

Henry: Thanks, James! Really happy to be here!

James: Shall we start with some questions from your fans? (OK) First question: How old are you and

where are you from?

Henry: I’m seventeen, and I’m from Harrogate in the north of England. But now I live in London.

James: Aha, London is a fantastic city to live in.

Henry: Yes, London is great. I love living there.

James: Question number 2: What kind of things do you like?

Henry: Well, I love music, of course… and sleeping… and eating.

James: And tell us, what do you not like?

Henry: My dislikes? Mmm, I hate it when I’m late for things…

James: (chuckles) Do you like social networking?

Henry: Well, I don’t go on Facebook very often, but I do use Twitter and Instagram a lot. They’re

good ways to contact our fans…

James: (Indeed!) Now the most interesting questions: tell us about your first kiss!

Henry: My first kiss? Hmm, I can’t remember very clearly… but I think it was with a short girl with

long curly hair… Yeah, we were at school… I was thirteen and she was twelve!

James: Interesting! Finally: can you tell us a secret?

Henry: I get really nervous before a concert, so I drink a lot of herbal tea to relax! My mum gave it to

me when I was little, you know, and it relaxed me a lot…

James: Herbal tea?! We didn’t know that! … How about listening to your new song now?

Henry: Great!

James: So, listen, everyone… This is “Lots of love”, the new hit by “Three Minutes”… More

questions for Henry Shine after the song … stay tuned! (Yeah, stay with us!)

TEXT 1

It was a sunny, humid and hot day in

the jungle. A lion was asleep under a tall

tree. But he didn’t sleep for a long time… A

funny, little mouse appeared. The mouse

jumped on the lion’s back and danced on his

head. Of course, the lion finally woke up and

he was very, very angry. He picked the

mouse up and roared,

“You woke me up, mouse! You small, insignificant thing interrupted my sleep,

the sleep of the King of the Jungle! I shall kill you and eat you!”

“Please, don’t eat me, Your Majesty,”

the terrified mouse said, “it was a mistake. I

was only playing here. Please, let me go! I

can be your friend. Please, Your Majesty,

consider: you help me today and, one day, I

can help you…” The lion looked at the little

mouse and laughed.

“You help me? Ho-ho-ho! That’s a funny idea!” the lion said. “A mouse

helping a lion,” he continued laughing. After some thinking seconds, the lion said,

“You know what? I didn’t sleep a lot today but I laughed with you and that’s

a good thing! So…ok, you can go.” The lion set the mouse free.

“Oh! Thank you, Your Majesty,” said the mouse and ran away.

Some days later, something terrible

happened to the lion. It got trapped in a big net.

“I must escape,” he thought. He kicked and

kicked but it was impossible to break the net. The

lion was desperate! He roared so loud that all the

animals in the jungle heard him. The little mouse

heard the lion’s roar, too.

“My friend the lion needs help,” said the

mouse. He ran and ran. He finally saw the lion

trapped in the net.

“Don’t worry, Your Majesty, I can help

you.” The mouse quickly cut the net with his little

teeth. His teeth were very small but definitely not

weak! In an instant, the lion was free again.

“You saved me. I’m free,” said the lion, “thank you, little friend.” The mouse

answered,

“On this occasion, you needed my help, Your Majesty.”

That day, the lion learned a very important lesson:

Small creatures can be powerful, too. And they can help the big ones!

TEXT 1

Felix is 11. Every morning, his father drives him to school.

In the car, Felix listens to his favourite radio programme: “What can you do today?”

Peter: This is Peter for LM 18. (Cheerfully) Good morning, everyone. This is LM 18. It’s Tuesday 15th

and it is raining. Oh yes! (Showing disappointment) It is raining… So, what can we do on a

rainy day? Let’s listen to John. He has an idea.

John: Is it raining? Are you bored? (Inviting with enthusiasm) Come to the Arts Museum. Rainy days are

great when you go to a wonderful place. This museum opens at 10 in the morning and closes

at 5 p.m. (Vividly) So, get up! And get ready! Remember: at 10 you can be there.

Peter: What can you see at the Arts Museum, John? (Transmitting true interest) Tell us, please.

John: (Enthusiastically) Lots of things! For example, go to the first floor. There are wonderful big

paintings on the walls and you can read about artists and their lives. Go to see Picasso’s

blue paintings. They are excellent!

Then the second floor is waiting for you. There you can draw and paint with the computers.

And, you can print your drawing too and then take it home.

By now, I’m sure you are feeling hungry so it’s time to go to the third floor. Inspiration, a

coffee bar, is on the third floor. The bar offers delicious things. There, you can have a

drink and a sandwich, for example. And, it’s really cheap. A sweet drink and a sandwich cost 5

pesos. (In wonder) Yes! Only 5 pesos!!! (Somewhat ironically) Not expensive, right?

Peter: (In full agreement) Not at all. (Transmitting enthusiasm) Wow, John! A lot of things to do in this

museum.

John: That’s right. (Recapping) So remember: 1st floor, great, big paintings. (Enthusiastically)

Picasso’s paintings are fantastic and you can learn about other artists’ lives, too! On the

second floor you can draw and print (Stressing) your work. And then have a sandwich and a drink

for 5 pesos on the 3rd

floor. Isn’t all this a very good plan for your rainy Tuesday? Great idea, don’t

you think? Come to the Arts Museum. Remember: it opens at 10 am. See you there!

Peter: Thank you, John. (Pausing) The Arts Museum... (Assertively) An interesting plan for rainy days!

So people: (Inviting with enthusiasm) Get your umbrellas and go out! There’s (Stressing) a lot

to do in our city on a rainy day.

Can you sing very well? Have you got a good voice?

How old are you? Are you thirteen, fourteen or fifteen years old?

So... you can sing very well..., you are 13, 14 or 15 years old..., and you want to be a pop star. Then come to

the show!

But remember: it is not easy! Thousands of people are watching you in this competition!! And... some

people cannot sing in front of TV cameras.

Can you sing in front of lots of people? And in front of TV cameras? Well, then contact us today! What do

you need to do?

Record your song on CD or DVD. Send the DVD or the CD with your song to POP DREAMS. What do we

do then? We watch all the DVDs, we listen to all the CDs and we select fifty participants. So only fifty

people can participate in the competition.

Now, imagine you are selected. You are one of the lucky fifty. You can participate! Then there are two

other things you need to do:

Number one: your parents must complete a form with some information about you. Only your parents can do

that. You can’t do it! Then, the day of the audition -the day you sing in front of the judges- you must bring

the form with you. You can’t participate and sing without the complete form. So, don’t forget: your

parents must complete the form with your personal details and you must bring it with you that day.

And number two: you must sing your song in front of the judges. The judges listen to your song and they tell

you: “You can continue!” or “Go home! “So, when you sing in front of the judges, the competition really

starts. We are waiting for you at POP DREAMS!
