Ecomunitat muestra losdistintos procesos, de recogida, reciclaje y transformación ennuevos productos de los materiales desechadosincontroladamente. Habla de eficiencia energética yconcienciación ciudadana. Muestra los recursos de los quedispone la sociedad para combatir estos desechos incontrolados.

E-Comunitat tells the story of an uncontrolled landfill near a magnificentorange grove. All kinds of products end thier life there: prunings,electronics, packaging, glass, paper and cardboard, plastics, heavymaterials, metals and even hazardous products for veterinary use. Allthese things can have a new life and at the same time not contribute toenvironmental degradation, not to mention the energy and costsavings. Ecomunitat shows the various processes of collection,recycling and processing into new products for uncontrollably discardedmaterials. It talks about energy efficiency and public awareness. La vida cosmopolita y el comerciodibujan un espacio de peculiar libertad en plena dictadurafranquista. The perturbing and enigmatical passion of the mediterranean peoplefor fire is lost in time. In the Valencian Community, fire has been and isstill a joyful and purifying ingredient in religious and pagan ceremoniesregarding the annual agricultural cycle, that are nowadays alive inpopular celebrations. Djalal es un joven que lucha por encontrar su sitio en el mundoreal. Está obsesionado con Lord_Sex, su avatar en Internet. Haestado construyendo su ciberidentidad desde su adolescencia,grabándose a si mismo recreando operaciones militares, ysubiendo sus vídeos a Youtube. Tiene miles de seguidores. Tienetambién una de las mayores colecciones privadas de armas yequipamiento militar. Llevando su sueño al límite, se alista en elejército español y se ofrece voluntario para ir al frente afgano.Pasa allí seis meses con su cámara de vídeo, grabando en losratos muertos. Entonces decide dejar el ejército. Pero no es pormiedo, sino porque se aburre: la guerra no es como en laspelículas. Djalal vuelve a casa desencantado, buscando qué hacercon su vida. Following hisdream, Djalal enlisted in the Spanish army and volunteered to be sentto the Afghan front. He spent six months there with his videocamera,filming the down times. Then he decided to leave the army. But itwasn't because he couldn't take the fear, but rather because he wasbored: war is not like in the movies. Djalal comes back homedisenchanted, looking for a something to do with his life. His return isnot an easy one. The economic crisis which was beginning when he setoff has mushroomed, hitting his own family. His father, with whom Djalalhas been living since his parents divorced, has lost his job and hasbeen forced to sell the family home. En estos momentos una gran parte de los menores adoptadosprocedentes de China están entrando o cerca de entrar en laadolescencia, una etapa compleja llena de interrogantes. Estapelícula documental retrata la vida actual de seis chicas chinasadoptadas en diversos lugares de España que están atravesandodiferentes momentos de la adolescencia, compartiendo con elespectador sus miedos, ideas e ilusiones. Las jóvenes y suspadres reflexionan sobre la adopción, el interés por sus orígenes,la relación con el entorno social o la aceptación de si mismas,exponiendo sus sentimientos y mostrándonos un pedazo de lavida después de la adopción.

At present, a large proportion of children adopted from China areentering or about to enter adolescence, a complex stage full ofquestions. This documentary portrays the actual lives of six adoptedChinese girls living in various parts of Spain as they go throughdifferent stages of adolescence, sharing their fears, ideas and dreamswith the audience. The girls and their parents reflect on adoption,interest in their origins, the relationship with the social environment andacceptance of themselves, exposing their feelings and showing us apiece of life after adoption.

La precariedad económica que se vive actualmente en Españanos sacude a diario, pero la frialdad de las cifras no puedeexplicar ni remotamente el sufrimiento que están soportando laspersonas que se encuentran en esta situación y, lo que aún esmás importante, la transformación que en muchos casosexperimentan. Después de convivir con ellas durante un año, lapelícula nos muestra una realidad donde surgen las preguntasmás esenciales, las profundas contradicciones de una sociedad allímite de sus fuerzas, la necesidad de replantearse el futuro y elintenso deseo de liberarse.

The economic insecurity that currently exists in Spain shakes us daily,but the indifference of numbers cannot even remotely explain thesuffering that people who find themselves in that situation are goingthrough and, what is even more important, the transformation that ishappening in many cases. Everything except something: David Prowse, theman behind the mask. With 80 years old, David lives anonymously atCroydon, a little neighborhood at the outskirts of London. He apparentlyhas a simple life, but unlike his neighbors, David hides one of the mostincredible stories that can be told. El 11 de agosto de 1984 el “Islamar Tercero”, con base en IslaCristina (Huelva) y propiedad de USISA, regresaba al puerto deLas Palmas. La noche, a pesar de ser pleno verano, distaba de serapacible, con olas de 7-8 metros de altura. El barco, con lasbodegas medio llenas de sardinas a granel, recibió un golpe demar que lo escoró a babor. La lucha por enderezarlo fueinfructuosa: el sardinero se hundió en apenas 10 minutos. Estefue el tiempo que tardaron los 28 tripulantes, de todas las edades,26 de Isla Cristina, en verse flotando sobre balsas improvisadasen la inmensidad del océano.

On 11 August 1984 the "Islamar Tercero", based at Isla Cristina(Huelva) and owned by USISA, was en route to the port of Las Palmas.Although it was the height of summer, the night was far from calm, withwaves 7-8 metres high. With its hold half full of sardines, the boat wassuddenly struck by a vast wage and capsized. Attempts to right it failedand the boat sank within 10 minutes. The 28 crew members, 26 ofthem from Isla Cristina, found themselves floating on improvised rafts inthe middle of the Atlantic.

Josele es un padre que corre maratones nacionales einternacionales empujando del carro donde está su hija, María,enferma de Síndrome de Rett, una afección genética altamenteincapacitante que en la actualidad no tiene cura. Su objetivo alcruzar una Línea de Meta es dar a conocer la enfermedad de suhija, y reivindicar que los niños con enfermedades raras existenaunque las empresas farmacéuticas no investiguen en sustratamientos porque no son rentables económicamente. La madrede María, María José, y sus dos hermanos: Cristina y Dani,completan la historia. El documental narra el periplo deportivo, enparalelo a la situación familiar a la que somete una enfermedadrara. Con el diagnóstico, cada miembro de la familia cumple un roly se ve afectado en alguna dimensión: física, psicológica y/osocial. Cada uno vive su "empujar del carro" para llegar a la Líneade Meta.

Josele is a dad who runs national and international marathons pushinghis daughter María’s pushchair. She has Rett Syndrome, a highlyincapacitating genetic disease that currently has no cure. Josele’sobjective when crossing a Finish Line is to raise awareness on hisdaughter’s disease, to let it known that kids with rare diseases existeven though pharmaceutical companies do not research their treatment


as they are not economically profitable. María’s mother, María José,and her two siblings: Cristina and Dani, complete the story. Thedocumentary narrates a sports journey alongside the situation to whicha rare disease subjects a family. With the diagnosis, each member ofthe family has their role and is affected at some level, be it physical,psychological and/or social. Each one lives their own “pushing the car”to reach the Finish Line.

Lina is seventy years old and has always been a farmer. Everymorning, she leaves San Mauro, the “strawberry town,” and goes toEurope’s biggest open-air market, Porta Palazzo in Turin, where shesells her fruit, vegetables and strawberries. Lina doesn’t have anychildren but she does have five dogs and a husband, who wishes shewould stop working, but his request is ignored. Until one day, at themarket, she meets Hassan, a young Moroccan immigrant looking for a


job. “The word ‘transformation’ is the vital and structural element of thefilm: that of the characters, of their relationships and of their stories, butalso of work, of farmers, of an era. In full globalization, Lina is still there,in the strawberry place, surviving the advent of a global era. Often,transformation is also associated with the idea of conflict, anotherleitmotiv of the movie: through the story of Lina, we go from thestrawberry fields of a town on the outskirts of Turin to the contradictionsof globalization, from the difficulties of a Moroccan boy to the problemsof immigration.”

Figura primordial en el mundo del arte, su etapa de juventud eraprácticamente desconocida hasta que en 2002 apareció unartículo que revolucionó el mundo del arte. El grupo de obrasasignadas a un artista anónimo, llamado El Maestro del Juicio deSalomón, eran en realidad pinturas realizadas por el pintorvalenciano en sus años de juventud, entre Roma y Nápoles.Desde entonces se han incorporado a su catálogo más de 50lienzos, entre ellos varias obras capitales hechas con tan solo 20años.

El artista alemán Wolf Vostell se mudó con su familia al pequeñopueblo extremeño de Malpartida de Cáceres a mediados de losaños 70. Allí, en medio de una naturaleza primitiva, fundó unmuseo de arte contemporáneo en conexión con los habitantes dela zona convirtiendo a Malpartida en el primer pueblo Fluxus. The German artist Wolf Vostell and his family moved to a little village inCáceres (Extremadura/Spain) in the seventies. In the middle of thisprimitive environment, he founded a contemporary art museum inconnection with the local inhabitants, thus turning Malpartida into thefirst Fluxus village. En el año 1989 Mario Conde planifica, diseña y manda construiruna descomunal mesa de madera maciza, de treinta metroscuadrados de superficie, para dar asiento a todos los consejerosy presidentes de la fusión entre Banesto y Banco Central, toda vezque ha evitado la OPA del Banco Bilbao sobre Banesto. La fusiónentre Banesto y Banco Central no llega finalmente a buen puerto,pero la mesa queda para uso del Consejo de Banesto. Veinticincoaños después, por una rara providencia del destino, la mesaregresa a Mario Conde procedente de una subasta organizada porunas monjas. Este hecho, que coincide con la celebración de susesenta y seis cumpleaños, es la fecha que el propio Mario Condeseñala en su calendario para presentar la mesa a los allegadosmás íntimos, trayendo de vuelta el pasado y una verdaddesconocida.

In 1989 Mario Conde plans, designs and orders built an enormous andsturdy wooden table, of thirty metres squared, to give seating to all theadvisors and presidents of the merger between Banesto and BancoCentral, as it prevented the takeover of Banesto by Banco Bilbao. Themerger of Banesto and Banco Central ultimately didn’t come to fruition,but the table was kept in use by the Consejo de Banesto. Twenty-fiveyears later, by a rare stroke of fate, the table returns to Mario Conde via


an auction organised by some nuns. This event, which coincides withthe celebration of his sixty-sixth birthday, is the date that Mario Condehimself marks in his calendar to present the table to his nearest anddearest, bringing back the past and a hidden truth.

En un momento en el que nuestro sistema de salud se enfrenta agraves problemas, acentuados por el progresivo envejecimientode la población, se impone reflexionar. Para hacerlo, el Dr.Fernando Diz-Lois y sus colegas, los doctores Fernando de laIglesia y Emilio Casariego, replantean la cuestión desde su raíz enel encuentro entre el médico y el paciente, mostrándonos cómoactúa la mirada médica y confrontándonos con la necesidad de uncambio de modelo. Se hace preciso ir más allá de una medicinacaracterizada por el alejamiento entre el médico y el paciente, laestandarización de la aproximación al enfermo y lasobreutilización de la tecnología y las terapias farmacológicas,con el consiguiente aumento del gasto y una creciente quiebra enel acompañamiento de la persona enferma. Para que estasreflexiones tengan plena capacidad de interesar al espectador,nuestro documental las ilustra con dramatizaciones de varioscasos clínicos, comentadas por el Dr. Fernando Diz-Lois einterpretadas por actores de primer nivel, las cuales nos permitenunir información y emoción de la forma más eficaz. La película es un cantoa la desesperación y a la esperanza de una de las plagas denuestro siglo.

The search for a disease that is crushing us and erases all ourmemories. Where do these memories go? A man looks everywhere totry to discover Alzheimer's and become its friend and, if possible, tothereby cure the disease or at least mitigate it. The film is a song ofdespair and hope in one of the plagues of our century.

Jesús Quintero acuñó, durante su larga carrera de periodista, uninmenso universo de personajes, de todo tipo de registros, queincluía a los que estaban excluidos de la versión imperante en elpaís. Sus entrevistas reflejan también la palabra que no sepronuncia, y los cuerpos que hablan aunque los sonidos loscontradigan; así, sus entrevistas nos devuelven un espejo másrico y complejo donde contemplarnos. Esta narrativa y susentrevistas, emitidas e inéditas, son la materia prima de esterelato de los años de España en democracia.

In his long career as a journalist, Jesús Quintero coined an immenseand multifarious universe of characters including those excluded fromthe prevailing version of the country. His interviews also reflect wordsnot pronounced and bodies that speak even if the sounds they makeimply otherwise; his interviews bring us a wealthier, more complexmirror in which to look at ourselves in. The narrative and its interviews,both broadcast and unseen, form the raw material of this story aboutthe years of Democratic Spain.

Durante los años 20 y 30 del siglo XX, un grupo de artistas eintelectuales quisieron acercar Canarias a la modernidad queirradiaba Europa. Son tiempos de revolución, de incendiariosmanifiestos y de experimentos escénicos que culminan en tresobras de teatro de vanguardia. Solo una llegó a ser representada.Las otras permanecieron ocultas durante décadas. Esta es lahistoria de una utopía frustrada, la de los primeros "modernos".

In the 20s and the 30s of the past century, a group of artists andintellectuals wanted to bring the Canary Island closer to the Europeanmodernity. Those were times of revolution, incendiary manifestos andstage experiments which culminated in the creation of threeavant-garde plays. Only one of them was staged. The other two werekept hidden for decades. This is the story of a frustrated utopia, of thefirst “moderns”.

Cuando cayó el Muro de Berlín, archivamos la idea de los murosde separación como parte del pasado. La realidad es exactamentela contraria. Nunca antes se habían construido tantos muros. Haymiles de kilómetros de vallas, verjas, alambradas y murallas enlas partes más distantes y diferentes del planeta. Esta películanarra historias reales de personas que viven en ambos lados demuy distintos muros. Son relatos cercanos e intensos que nosmuestran que, en ambos lados, compartimos las mismasesperanzas, miedos, pensamientos y emociones, el mismo deseode sobrevivir.

The world is increasingly divided by walls. Walls, fences, trenches,barbed wire. A wall divides. There are human beings on one side andon the other. We do not want to discuss whether their existence isabsurd or logical, if it is unavoidable or not, we want to showcase andcelebrate that people who are on one side and on the other are, inessence, brothers.
