Resilience: The ability to keep a positive andfavorable attitude towards adversities totransform complexity into opportunity.
It’s each one’s decision to stay home because it’s rainingor go out to sell umbrellas. Everyone who’s grown up indifficult surroundings, where unexpected changes areordinary, is more inclined to developing higher levels ofresilience.
In the job market, people with high levels of resilience aremore attractive for organizations because they’re capable ofseeing opportunities where others only see problems, theyhave the ability to use their setting as a springboard , insteadof a comfortable sofa. They’re prepared to take risky decisionsbecause they don’t fear failure.
In this first edition of PSY Group Magazine, we’ll share ourexperiences to seed a simple question to start 2016 with:
What have I done today to transform my crisis into opportunities?

¿Quién soy como mujer? ¿Qué me limita?

Who am I as a woman? What limits me?
I talk about equality in terms of access, rights, possibilities, equity, justice, respect andworth in society.
Even though our expectations aim to a futurewhere all of this is possible, the work towardsthis reality must be done today. Starting withan inner and personal change, checking onlimiting believes that society has force on usand that silently and unconsciously havestopped our growth.
As a Psychologist and Coach, I find essentialto always keep a gender-oriented scope inmy job. This reflection tool is especially usefulfor asking powerful questions that help usmeet goals by defying status quo.
Is there something I think I can’taccomplish because I’m a female?Do I believe there are male-onlylabors? Do I really want changes inmy life? Or do I feel they’re myduty as a woman?
These guilt-free reflections with no pastregrets and focused on action andimprovement, can help us to get rid ofunknown judgements and misconceptions tocreate a new set of believes that trigger us toaccomplishing next year’s objectives, in arespecting and coherent way with our innervoice – the one which sometimes is shutdown by society and we forget exists- .
If you can start today, Why waiting until 2016?

ESTABLECIENDOMETAS PARA EL2016

E L MO D E L O S M A R T :
N O M A D I C | 2 4

SETTING GOALSFOR 2016
By Kr i s t y MárquezD i r ec to r PSY Group Argen t ina
T H E S M A R T MO D E L :
Let’s talk about setting goals: It’s nothing but definingclearly and specifically what we genuinely want andneed, with a reflexive thinking that identifies the stepsand actions to take to reach that goal.
It is important for our goals to be as explicit aspossible, measurable, reachable, grounded and beingbased over a deadline. This will assure ourselves that itis exactly what we wanted and compromise ourselvesto achieve it.
On the other hand, we must be prepared to facedifferent scenarios and count on action plans to dealwith each of these situations:
What resources do we really count on to achieve thesegoals? What do we need and where can we find it?What obstacles can we encounter and how can wesolve them?
Taking this in count, write down your goals and make astep-by-step plan to accomplish it. Include due datesand track your process periodically to adjust itwhenever necessary to finish it.
Remember: Your motivation for achieving these goalsis the key factor for this new year.
Go further your limitations, step out your comfortzone and fight for what you want.

n Venezuela, we’ve seen howpolitical, economic and socialcrisis have force a greatpercentage of people to seekincome solutions, different fromthe ones offered by theirregular jobs.
Therefore, innovative ideashave taken this crisis as anaccess point to diverse markets.

Only 1.5% out of the 2millions start-upscreated, anually, inVenezuela, stay in themarket for longer than3 and a half years.
According to an IESAresearch
But how many of thesebusiness ideas do actuallysucceed?
Although, Venezuelans – andexcuse me sharing my personalopinion – tend to be trulyempirics, culturally, we are asociety diffident to planning, which makes us more likely todepend on improvisation andtaking non-founded decisions. At the end, these kinds of habitskeep us away from achievingour goals.
Coaching-supportedEntrepreneurship is aprocess where the Coach’sjob is to help theentrepreneur materializean idea into a well-basedand developed businessopportunity, throughsketches and work framesthat the client will be ableto use when defining aclear business prospective, setting goals and reachingfor an action plan.

Talent is the integration andinteraction of one's abilities, inborn characteristics, knowledge, experiences, expertise, intelligence, attitude, temper and initiative to learnand develop in differentcontexts.
We all have different talents thatmake us unique beings , butwhat sets us apart from eachother is the practical and socialimplementation of it.

"A little talent may be the tipof the iceberg if we lookclosely"
Sometimes, we don't recognizeour own talent because wedon’t give the importance itdeserves, so we just stoplooking for them.
This doesn’t mean it’s easy toidentify.
Developing talent has a lot todo with self-bravery to standout from the rest and stayrespectful at the same time.

3 EXERCISES FORTAKING THE BIG STEP
QUITTING YOURCOMFORT ZONE
Making risky decisions implies accepting and promotingchange in your life. This New Year’s challenge is tounderstand that we can only progress, if we are capable oftaking chances and that failure is an opportunity toimprove.
People capable of making decisions out of their comfortzone are closer to transforming dreams into reality.
To be willing to take risks, motivation towards achievingexceptional results and having no fear of failure are part ofa successful person’s DNA, because these are the minimumrequired conditions to step out the comfort zone and takeactions.
By Helys Quiñones
Director and Founder PSY GroupVice Chair World Coaching School (America)
Every time you decide to take a risk, youface the chances of failing. Practicing anew sport, where you don’t have totalcontrol over your body’s response tothe physical demand, forces you to goover your limits and get to knowyourself in never experienced situations. This way, you can show yourself that youare capable of giving so much morethan what you first expected.
Practice a newsport
If you write the same short text (aprox.100 words) for 21 days, you will besurprised with the results when youcompare the first day from the last one.Activities like this, mobilize parts of yourbrain normally inactive, which increasesyour levels of creativity and innovation. After a while, you’ll notice that eventhough the frustrating beginning, you’recapable of creating new habitsassociated with reaching for successand the final satisfaction this grants.
Try writing withyour non-habitual hand
Open up to feedback
Leaders are usually protected from anysort of critics that break their regularroutine. Give your internal and externalclients a chance to approach you andask them about your opportunities ofimprovement. Listen to them activelyand with empathy and you might findinformation that you probably neverconsidered before.
