Queridos Feligreses,

Estamos a solo 3 semanas de la Temporada de

Cuaresma, el Miércoles de Ceniza es el 14 de fe-

brero. La cuaresma es un tiempo de purificación,

estamos llamados a la oración, el ayuno y la cari-

dad. Es una tradición de la época de Cuaresma

tener reflexiones especiales los viernes (ejercicios

espirituales). El año pasado comenzamos una se-

rie de tres partes llamada "el camino". La primera

parte del camino fue una reflexión sobre nuestro

"encuentro personal" con Jesús o nuestra "falta

de un encuentro personal" con Jesús. La segunda

parte, que haremos de esta manera, se enfocará

en lo que significa ser la comunidad de Jesús, la

Iglesia. Continuando con nuestro tema de Advien-

to de "convertirse en Discípulos Misioneros,

(Encuentro, Acompañamiento, Comunidad y En-

vío)", el segundo componente del Viaje se enfoca

en Jesús como: 1. El emisor del Espíritu. 2. El re-

colector. 3. El líder. 4. El reconciliador. 5. El anfi-

trión de las comidas. 6. El Portador del Reino. Es-

te fin de semana, están invitados a registrarse

para los Ejercicios Espirituales / El Camino. El

costo es de $10 (que incluye el folleto ~ una pare-

ja / familia puede compartir el mismo folleto) y la

comida de Cuaresma. Espero continuar el camino

con ustedes.

Durante la temporada de Navidad / Adviento, mu-

chos de ustedes salieron como "Discípulos Misio-

neros" para bendecir hogares de feligreses recién

registrados. Me gustaría conocer sus experiencias

y saber cuáles son los próximos pasos que debe-

mos dar para "acompañar" a los nuevos feligreses

a una participación más plena en la "comunidad".

El sábado 27 de enero a las 11:00 a.m. en el sa-

lón Father Fry, te invito a una sesión de comenta-

rios.

Finalmente, nuestras oraciones van para nuestros

estudiantes de secundaria que se unen a una de-

legación de la Arquidiócesis de Indianápolis para

ir a Washington, D.C., para ser una voz para los

no nacidos. Que puedan ser escuchados y que

Dios los mantenga a salvo mientras ellos ejercen

sus voces proféticas para aquellos que no tienen

voz.

Dear Parishioners,

We are only 3 weeks away from the Season of

Lent, Ash Wednesday is February 14. Lent is a

time for purification, we are called to prayer, fast-

ing, and charity. It is a tradition of Lenten season

to have special reflections on Fridays (Spiritual

Exercises). Last year we began a three-part se-

ries called “the Journey.” Part one of the Journey

was a reflection on our “personal encounter” with

Jesus or our “lack of a personal encounter” with

Jesus. The second-part, which we will do this

lent, will focus on what it means to be the commu-

nity of Jesus, the Church. Continuing our Advent

theme of “becoming Missionary Disciples,

(Encounter, Accompany, Community, and Send-

ing),” the second component of the Journey focus

on Jesus as: 1. The sender of the Spirit. 2. The

Gatherer. 3. The Leader. 4. The Reconcil-

er 5. The Host of Meals. 6. The Bringer of the

Kingdom. This weekend, you are invited to regis-

ter for the Spiritual Exercises/The Journey. The

cost is $10 (which includes the booklet ~ a cou-

ple/family can share the same booklet) and the

Lenten meal. I look forward to continuing the

journey with you.

During the Christmas/Advent Season, many of

you went out like “Missionary Disciples” to bless

homes of newly registered parishioners. I would

like to hear about your experiences and know

what are the next steps we should take in

“accompanying” new parishioners to more full

participation in the “community.” On Saturday,

January 27, at 11:00 a.m., in the Father Fry

room, I invite you to a feedback session.

Finally, our prayers go out for our high school stu-

dents who are joining a delegation from the Arch-

diocese of Indianapolis to go to Washington, D.C.,

to be a voice for the unborn. May they be heard

and may God keep them safe as they exercise

their prophetic voices for those who have no

voice.
