Resumen:

Este artculo pretende explorar los vnculos entre la violencia en el deporte y la cons-truccin de la masculinidad. En primer lugar, el artculo describe las principales lneas tericas en el

estudio sociolgico del deporte y la violencia. En segundo, se bosqueja un perl del acionado violen-

to medio y de sus principales caractersticas. Y, nalmente, se explora la relacin entre la masculini -

dad y la violencia en el ftbol usando las herramientas analticas del paradigma feminista, para con-

siderar como la violencia en el deporte ayuda a construir la identidad masculina. El artculo naliza

enfatizando los vnculos entre la violencia, el deporte y la reduccin de las estructuras patriarcales.

Palabras clave: Cultura, Gnero, Identidad, Sociologa del Deporte, Violencia.

Abstract:This paper tries to explore the links between sport violence and the building of masculinity.

Firstly, the papers describe the main theoretical frameworks in the sociological study of sport and violen-

ce. Secondly, a prole of the average football hooligan and of its main characteristics is sketched. And,nally, the relation between masculinity and football hooliganism is explored using the analytics tools of

feminist paradigm in order to consider how sport violence helps to build the masculine identity. The paper

concludes remarking the links between violence, sport and the decreasing of patriarchal structures.
