Muchos en la parroquia han estado preguntando cuándo comenzaremos las

clases de educación religiosa. En el próximo mes de septiembre, nuestra

primera clase será el 18 de septiembre, un miércoles. En esta ocasión,

pedimos que no solo estén presentes los jóvenes de kínder a séptimo grado,

sino también todos los padres. El próximo año se requerirán las reuniones de

padres para que los padres puedan aprender cómo enseñar las lecciones en el

hogar. La clase comenzará a las 6:30 pm y continuará hasta las 8:00 pm.

Al registrarse, recibirá un calendario de las diferentes reuniones. Cada mes

habrá una reunión de padres, una reunión de la comunidad y dos lecciones en

el hogar. Esto requerirá más inversión por parte de los padres, pero sé que

todo su trabajo tendrá un gran efecto en sus hijos y en su vida de fe. En la

reunión de padres, mientras los jóvenes tienen una lección con los maestros en

el aula, los padres asistirán a un taller donde aprenderán cómo enseñar y qué

enseñar a sus hijos a través de debates y actividades. La reunión de la

comunidad cada mes se centrará en reunir a nuestra comunidad y permitirnos

disfrutar de una actividad divertida basada en la fe. Las otras dos semanas del

mes serán lecciones en casa. Esto se puede hacer en su hogar o en otro lugar

como familia. También puede optar por reunirse como una sola familia o

varias familias juntas. Para mí, una lección ideal para el hogar comenzaría con

la cena de una o varias familias, seguida de un repaso del material didáctico

seguido de actividades del libro para niños y un momento de comunión. En

cada taller para padres que se realiza mensualmente, nos registraremos para

ver cómo van las lecciones en el hogar.

Para aquellos que se preparan para recibir su primera confesión y primera

comunión, también tendremos reuniones para nuestros padres y jóvenes. La

primera reunión de padres será el 19 de octubre, un sábado, para revisar los

recursos que se utilizarán en el hogar y preparar a nuestros jóvenes para su

primera reconciliación.

Para nuestros catequistas, tendremos una reunión el 11 de septiembre a las

6:00 pm. Todavía necesitamos muchos catequistas, así que si está interesado,

llame a la oficina parroquial.

También comenzaremos nuestro ciclo de confirmación de dos años

nuevamente a partir del 18 de septiembre. Si tiene estudiantes que ingresarán

a octavo o noveno grado y aún no han sido confirmados, inscríbalos para las

clases. Al igual que los últimos dos años, participarán en clases los miércoles

y tendrán su propio horario personalizado.

Dado que la confirmación es un programa de dos años, las confirmaciones no

serán hasta el 2021. Sin embargo, la primera reconciliación será el 15 de

diciembre y las primeras comuniones serán el 10 de mayo. Que tengan una

semana bendecida.

La Oficina del Apostolado Mariano patrocinará la

recitación del Santísimo Rosario de la Santísima

Virgen María en el Jardín de la Madre cerca de la

Catedral de San José a las 6:00 p.m. este lunes 26 de

agosto. Todos están invitados.

Legión de María - La parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe tiene un capítulo

para la organización conocida como la Legión de María. La Legión de María es una

organización católica laica cuyos miembros están dando servicio a la Iglesia en

forma voluntaria en casi todos los países del mundo. Su principal apostolado es la

oración y el trabajo misionero (principalmente visitando hogares y cuidando a los

enfermos). Las reuniones son de 3:00 a 4:00 los sábados por la tarde en la escuela.

Hospitalidad/Hospitality El desayuno después de las Misas estará suspendido

hasta que estemos de regreso en el edificio de la

Iglesia. Por lo tanto, el primero, segundo y último

pended until we are back in the Church building

since it will be difficult to set up and take down

chairs and tables after every Mass. So, on the first,

second, and last week ends of the month, we will not

be having bread, donuts, or breakfast.

Many in the parish have been asking when we will be starting religious educa-

tion classes. In this coming month of September, our very first class will be

September 18, a Wednesday. On this occasion, we ask that not only the youth

from kindergarten through 7th grade be present but also all of the parents.

This coming year the parent meetings will be required so that the parents can

learn how to teach the home lessons. The class will start at 6:30 pm and go

until 8:00 pm.

At registration you will receive a calendar of the various meetings. Each

month there will be a parent meeting, a community meeting, and two home

lessons. This will require more investment on the part of parents but I know

that all your work will have a great effect on your children and your life of

faith. At the parent meeting, while the youth have a lesson with teachers in the

classroom, the parents will be attending a workshop where they will learn

how to teach and what to teach their kids through discussion and activities.

The community meeting each month will be focused on bringing our commu-

nity together and allowing us to enjoy a fun faith-based activity. The other

two weeks of the month will be home lessons. These can be done in your

home or at another location as a family. You can also choose to meet as a sin-

gle family or multiple families together. For me, an ideal home lesson would

begin with supper of one or multiple families, followed by going through the

teaching material followed by activities from the kids book and a time of fel-

lowship. At each parent workshop that happens monthly, we will check in to

see how the home lessons are going.

For those preparing to receive their first confession and first Holy Commun-

ion, we will also have meetings for our parents and youth. The first parent

meeting will be on October 19, a Saturday, to review the resources which will

be used in the home and prepare our youth for their first reconciliation.

For our catechists, we will have a meeting on September 11 at 6:00 pm to

look over class schedules and lessons, as well as complete Safe Environment

Training. We still need many catechists so if you are interested, please call the

parish office.

We will also be starting our two-year cycle of confirmation again starting on

September 18th as well. If you have students who will be going into 8th or 9th

grade and have not yet been confirmed, please register them for classes. Like

the last two years, they will participate in classes on Wednesdays and will

have their own customized schedule.

Since confirmation is a two-year program, the confirmations will not be until

2021. However, first reconciliation will be on December 15 and first com-

munions will be on May 10th. Have a blessed week.

The Office of the Marian Apostolate will sponsor

the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary of the

Blessed Virgin Mary in the Mother's Garden near

the Cathedral of St. Joseph at 6:00 p.m. on this

Mon., Aug. 26th. All are invited.

Shoot for the benefit of Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools Foundation

Surviving Divorce- begins Monday, September 9, 2019 in Brookings, SD at St.

Thomas More Parish. Sessions are held on Monday evenings, 6:30-8:30pm.
