To attend this training program, participant should have fundamental knowledge of MSC, MGW and Hardware ATCA Architecture.
DurationTraining duration of the proposed content would be 1 Day.
Training MethodologyThe delivery will be instructor-led classroom training with interactive discussions and Q&A / quiz sessions.
Upon completion of training participants would able to get a technical knowhow of the Huawei Software.
Course Objectives
MSOFTX3000 Presentation
OBJECTIVESUpon completion of this course, you will be able to:
Understand protocol stack applied in Mc interface
Understand the various protocols in detail.
Basic Hardware Architecture.
CONTENTSChapter 1 Review
Chapter 2 Huawei Data Configuration
Mc InterfaceThe Mc Interface lies between an MSC and a MGW. The underlying protocol used is H.248 or Megaco as it is commonly
known.

Media Gateway Control Protocol (MEGACO/H.248)
• MEGACO/H.248 is used to control Media Gateways in a Multimedia systems. MEGACO can be Text or Binary (ASN.1) encoded. Sometimes it's also referred as GCP (Gateway Control Protocol).
• A MediaGateway (MGW) as its name says is a system used as a Gateway for Media. Current uses are in telephony (Internet, Mobile and Wireline) and Video and Narrowcasting. A MediaGateway is usually placed at the edge of two or more different Transport Mediums (like: ATM (AAL1,AAL2,AAL5), IP, TDM, even two wire PSTN) and its main duty is to convert media (voice/video) between these domains. MediaGateways are often capable of playing and listening to DTMFs, playing tones (like busy tones), handling voice/video messaging and other similar tasks.
SCTP – Stream Control Transmission Protocol
• In computer networking, the Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) is a transport-layer protocol, serving in a similar role to the popular protocols TCP and UDP. It is standardized by IETF in RFC 4960. It is a transport protocol for call signalling, created to overcome several lacks and problems of TCP when used for signalling between telephony nodes.
• Typically, SCTP uses IP as its underlying protocol. The assigned protocol number for SCTP on IP is 132.
Features of SCTP• Multihoming support in which one or both endpoints of a connection
can consist of more than one IP address, enabling transparent fail-over between redundant network paths.
• Delivery of chunks within independent streams eliminate unnecessary head-of-line blocking, as opposed to TCP byte-stream delivery.
• Acked error-free non duplicated user data transfer• Data fragmentation conforming to discovered path MTU (max
transmission unit)
• Sequenced delivery of user messages within each stream (but have multiple streams)• Option for out-of-order delivery of a user message• Bundling of multiple user messages into a single SCTP packet• Fault-tolerance (at network level) by supporting multi-homing at either/both ends of an association.• Heart-beat/keep alive messages• Message boundaries preserved• SACK
Features of SCTP (Cont.)
• Head of line blocking in TCP; not good in many situations• Applications must add their own record making;• TCP vulnerable to Denial of Service attacks• Main motivator:– Carrying SS7 signalling on IP Networks
Need for SCTP
• Device Numbering• Modular Logical Structure

Frame
Board
• Shelf Number• MSOFTX3000 can be configured with a maximum of three shelves (cabinet),
numbered from 0 to 2. • The shelf with the basic frame is Integrated Shelf, numbered as 0, which
including two frames, BAM (Backup Administration Module) and iGWB (Billing tool).
• Service Shelf can contain 4 Service Frame.• A shelf number should be consistent with the actual position of a shelf when
configured, so that the system can generate correct alarm information if a failure occurs to the shelf during operation.
Huawei Device Numbering (continued)
Huawei Device Numbering (continued)• Frame Number
• Frame is a Function Unit, including different boards to achieve one function. One Basic Frame and 9 Extension Frame in full data configuration.
• The basic frame is numbered as 0 and the other frames are numbered from 1 to 9 from bottom upward
• Basic Frame must to be configured. Extension Frame depends on capacity.

Huawei Device Numbering (continued)• Module number starts from 2 according to board type. The module number of
a board is unique in the system. • The numbering rules are as follows:
• WSMU module number: 2–21 (allocated automatically by the system)• WCCU/WCSU module number: 22–101• WCDB/WVDB module number: 102–131• WMGC/WAFM/WIFM/WBSG/WSGU module number: 132–211
