Under the agreement, "Georgetown" in 1975 with the European Community, the group "African, Caribbean and Pacific Group (ACP) was established primarily to work in poverty reduction, sustainable development and integration with the developed world. The EDFs (European Development Funds) were created by the European Union to provide assistance to these countries.The 8th EDF Proinvest began as a technical cooperation program of the European Union and ACP countries to encourage investment and provide support to private organizations in the region. With a budget of 110 million euros, the program began in 2002 and ended in 2011.
ObjectivesObjectivesThe main objective is to set up a 2.0 web platform with the aim to make available to private sector companies operating in ACP countries the knowledge necessary to strengthen mechanisms for investment and promotion, focusing especially into:
• Reinforce the "networking" among ProInvest "Target groups" in order to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices using Web 2.0 technologies.• Providing to the community a set of lessons learnt through the various ACP communities (best practices, results, etc..) through usable repositories.• Encourage and improve the synergies of the investors community.
