DECLARACIÓN DE NUESTRA MISIÓN

El Foro Arquidiocesano para el RCIA incluye a líderes parroquiales con experiencia en el Ministerio de Iniciación. Nuestra misión es promover, a través de la Arquidiócesis de Atlanta, la visión y la completa implementación del Rito de Iniciación Cristiana como lo promueve el texto del Rito de Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos (NCCB, 1988).

METAS

• Formar un equipo colaboratino para trabajar juntos

• Mantener la visión del Rito de Iniciación Cristiana organizando talleres con líderes locales y nacionales

• Colaborar de cerca con la Oficina de Formación y Discipulado en el área de iniciación cristiana

• Ayudar a la comunidad multicultural y a las parroquias rurales en la implementación y adaptación del Rito de Iniciación Cristiana, de acuerdo a sus circunstancias particulares

• Apoyar los esfuerzos de implementación y adaptación del Rito de Iniciación Cristiana para niños en edad catequética

MISSION STATEMENT

The Archdiocesan Forum for the RCIA includes parish leaders experienced in Initiation Ministry. Our mission is to promote throughout the Archdiocese of Atlanta the vision and the full implementation of the Rite of Christian Initiation as promulgated in the text of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (NCCB, 1988). (Revised and adopted September 2012)

GOALS

• To model in our work together what it is to be a collaborative team

• To sustain the vision of the Rite of Christian Initiation by sponsoring workshops with local and national leaders

• To collaborate closely with the Office of Formation and Discipleship in the area of Christian Initiation

• To assist the multicultural community and rural parishes in the implementation and adaptation of the Rite of Christian Initiation for their particular circumstances

• To support the efforts at implementation and adaptation of the Rite of Christian Initiation for children of catechetical age

THURSDAY, AUGUST 25 FR. PAUL TURNER (ENGLISH) 10AM-2PM OR 6PM-9PM Paul Turner is pastor of St. Anthony

Parish in Kansas City, Missouri. A priest of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, he holds a doctorate in sacred theology from Sant’ Anselmo in Rome. His publications include At the Supper of the Lamb; Glory in the Cross; and Celebrating Initiation: A Guide for Priests.

SÁBADO, 12 DE NOVIEMBRE FR. VICTOR REYES (SPANISH) 9AM-2PM | Victor Reyes es sacerdote en la Arquidiócesis de Atlanta y actualmente

es el párroco de Our Lady of LaSalette en Canton, Georgia. El Padre Victor se ha desempeñado como instructor y consultor bilingue de liturgia y homilética para programas de formación ministerial para el clero y los laicos en las areas de Iniciación Cristiana, Formación Litúrgica, Ministerios Multiculturales y Desarrollo de Liderazgo. El reverendo Reyes se desempeñó por muchos años como miembro del equipo nacional del North American Forum on the Catechumenate, actualmente sirve en el Atlanta Forum on the Catechumenate.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 7 DR. JERRY GALLIPEAU | 9AM-2PM Dr. Jerry Galipeau is Vice President and Chief Publishing Officer at World

Library Publications, the music and liturgy division of J.S. Paluch Company, in Franklin Park, Illinois. He served for 15 years as Director of Liturgy and Music at parishes in Florida and Illinois. Jerry presents parish missions, keynotes and workshops throughout the United States on the RCIA, liturgical spirituality, ritual music, evangelization, and adult spiritual formation.

This presentation offers an updated look at issues that Catholic parishes face in the ministry of the Christian Initiation of Adults.

Topics include:• The preparation and reception of previously

baptized candidates• The periods and liturgies of the catechumenate• The initiation of children of catechetical age

This workshop will focus on ways to discern the level of Christian formation for those who come to us seeking the Rite of Chris-tian Initiation of Adults. We also will examine the types of conversion we can help facilitate for cat-echumens and candidates in the RCIA process.
