Views from Fr. Larry Pichard, Pastor We just received the sad news that Deacon Bob Bonomi will be transferred to St. Paul Parish in Richardson on July 1. We hate to let go of Deacon Bob since he has been with us for almost 3 ½ years, but St. Paul Parish does not have an English-speaking deacon. Deacon Bob’s last weekend will be June 25-26, and during those Masses, he will address us. But we received good news that Deacon John Costello, who has been at All Saints Parish in Dallas for 20 years, will be coming to us at St. Francis. Although his official date here will be June 1, you may see him this weekend or next. He moved to Frisco 9 years ago but commuted to All Saints; now it will be an easy commute to St. Francis! Congratulations to our parishioner Carlos Liscano who will have an elementary school named after him. It will be called Liscano Elementary School, located just south of Eldorado Pkwy between Coit and Independence, a bit south of Heritage High School. A parishioner since 1968 when his family moved here from west Texas, Carlos served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, earned a Bronze Star and came back to Frisco to marry Yolanda Gonzales in 1970, work at what would become Exide for 41 years, organize Frisco’s Memorial Day observance now held at Frisco Commons, assist the FISD superintendent to help students who were considering dropping out of school, serve as a volunteer coach, lead the local VFW and Lions Club. They have been involved in the ACTS retreats, and Carlos will lead the ACTS retreat in Spanish in September. An outstanding man and an excellent Catholic! Speaking of dedication, we invite all parishioners who have offered their time and talent to us during this last year to attend our Time and Talent Picnic on Thursday. More information later in this bulletin. People are asking about the hole on the east side of the Church (side that faces Rogers). Right before Holy Week an underground pipe carrying cold water to the Church to supply cooling for the air conditioning system broke and flooded the electrical room behind the choir area. Although the leak was fixed, engineers are still studying why it broke so that they can provide a permanent solution so that other pipes do not break.

Acabamos de recibir la triste noticia de que el diácono Bob Bonomi será transferido a la Parroquia de San Pablo en Ri-chardson el 1 de julio. No nos gusta dejar ir al Diácono Bob ya que ha estado con nosotros desde hace casi tres años y medio, pero la Parroquia San Pablo no tiene diáconos que hablen Inglés. El últi-mo fin de semana del Diácono Bob será el 25 y 26 de junio. Pero recibimos la buena noticia que el Diácono John Costello, quien ha estado en la parroquia de Todos los Santos en Dallas durante 20 años, se va a venir con nosotros a San Francis-co. Aunque su fecha oficial para iniciar aquí será el 1 de junio es posible que lo vean este fin de semana o la siguiente. Él se mudó a Frisco hace 9 años pero se trasladaba todos los domingos a la Parroquia de Todos los Santos; hora será más fácil para él estando en la parroquia de San Francisco! Felicitaciones a nuestro parroquiano Carlos Liscano que tendrán una escuela primaria con su nombre. Se llamará Escuela Primaria Liscano (Liscano Elementary School), ubicada al sur de Eldorado Parkway entre Coit e Independence, un poco al sur de la escuela preparatoria Heritage. Él es un parroquiano desde 1968, cuando su familia se trasladó aquí desde el oeste de Texas. Justo antes de la Semana San-ta una tubería subterránea que lleva agua fría a la Iglesia para suministrar la refrigeración para el sistema de aire acondicionado se rompió e inundó el cuarto eléctrico detrás del área del coro. A pesar de que la fuga se arregló los ingenieros todavía están estu-diando por qué se rompió la tubería de manera que puedan pro-porcionar una solución permanente para que otra tubería no se rompa.

Our St. Vincent de Paul Conference is hosting “Bingo For Friends” on Saturday, June 11 at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall.
