The NW Ductless Heat
Pump Project, an initiative of
the Northwest Energy Eficien-
cy Alliance, recently honored
Entek Corporation with the
Marketing Excellence award.
This award recognizes in-
stallers who demonstrate out-
standing performance in cus-
tomer education efforts to raise
awareness of the beneits of ductless heating and cooling
systems. Entek provides ser-
vices to customers of Clark Pub-
lic Utilities and Cowlitz PUD in
Washington state; both utilities
help support the NW Ductless
Heat Pump Project.
“It is our pleasure to honor
Entek for their impressive ef-
forts in helping customers un-
derstand the many advantages
of ductless systems,” said Du-
Wayne Dunham, energy coun-
selor for Clark Public Utili-
ties. “They are providing local
homeowners with excellent
service, increased comfort and
decreased heating bills.”
Typically installed in less
than a day, highly eficient duct-less systems can serve a home’s
primary heating and cooling
needs. Convenient, quiet and
controlled by remote, these
systems evenly heat rooms at a
fraction of the cost of ineficient baseboards, wall heaters and
electric furnaces. Upgrading to
a ductless system can reduce
electric heating costs by 25 to
50 percent, saving homeowners
money for the long term.
Entek has increased busi-
ness through customer educa-
tion and marketing outreach
by highlighting the rewards of
ductless technology.
“Working with Clark Public
Utilities, Cowlitz PUD and the
NW Ductless Heat Pump Proj-
ect, we’ve been able to meet the
needs of more homeowners by
offering and promoting duct-
less systems,” said Allan Shero,
company president. “Customers
appreciate the added comfort
and lower energy bills, and our
ield professionals appreciate how easy they are to install. It’s
been a pleasure to work collab-
oratively to increase awareness
throughout our local market.”
Ductless systems are surg-
ing in popularity, thanks in part
to Northwest utilities collabo-
rating as members of the NW
Ductless Heat Pump Project to
bring this product to the North-
west market. These efforts have
led to the installation of more
than 71,000 units in Idaho,
Montana, Oregon and Washing-
ton for a savings of 248,500,000
kWh—enough electricity to
power nearly 23,000 homes for
an entire year.
“We are proud to work with
local installers like Entek who
are dedicated to promoting the
widespread adoption of ductless
systems through high-proile marketing and education,” said
Eugene Rosolie, conservation
manager for Cowlitz PUD. “We
know that the utilities and in-
stallers, together with the NW
Ductless Heat Pump Project,
have made a difference in edu-
cating homeowners on why this
proven technology helps cus-
tomers enjoy increased eficien-
cy and comfort.”
