Entonces tu perro aprende a no morderte
¿WHAT is operant conditioning?
Operant conditioning is a form of learning in which the result (the reinforcing stimulus) is
contingent on the answer previously given on the subject. Operant conditioning involves the
execution of behaviors that operate on the environment.
CONDITIONING COMPONENTS
• Enhancers
• Unconditioned stimulus
• Unconditioned response
FREE operant level
The operative procedure free: the individual is free to issue the answer repeatedly, because there
are no limitations to the production of successive responses. Eg. In math class, when Jan gave a
sheet with several arithmetic problems to resorb, she could adopt different working patterns (to
solve a problem or three problems per minute per minute).
PUNISHMENT
Punishment. Behavior used to extinguish or nullify any behavior of an organization
A different case occurs if your dog is playing tug of war with you. You pull the end of a cloth, while
your dog pulls on the other end. In their enthusiasm to chew the rag, your dog bites the hand so
that you end the game and leave. Then your dog learns not to bite when they play. This is known
as negative punishment, because the removal of something (the game) decreases the frequency of
the behavior (biting your hand.)
EXTINCTION.
Is decreased the frequency of a learned behavior, which occurs when such behavior has no
consequences. This means that the consequences cease to exist before the behavior reinforced.
Imagine that when your dog was a puppy to greet people by jumping on them, because they
caressed and played with him. Then he learned that this is the correct way to greet people. One
day, people stop to pet and play with him when he jumps. Instead, turn away and ignore it. Over
time your dog stop jumping to greet people. This is because the learned behavior (jumping on
people) ceases to have reinforcing consequences, and then as the concept of behavior.
