Green computing
The growing power consumption of computing technology and high energy costs are having a direct impact on business profitability.
Enterprising is trying to shrink energy costs and carbon consumption and increase the use of recyclable materials.
Green technology focuses on reducing the harmful enviromental impacts of computing and industrial processes and innovative technologies caused by the needs of the growing worldwide population.

invests in giant offshore wind farm
Wind turbine farm off the mid-Atlantic coast
It will carry power from offshore power hubs that will collect power from multiple offshore wind farms.
When fully complete, the backbone could carry enough power to serve about 1.9 million households

Dell Goes Carbon Neutral the world’s second largest computer manufacturer
announced on Wednesday that they have attained 100% carbon neutrality as far as energy use is concerned.
Dell uses renewable sources of energy to meet its power needs, which being limited in supply is able to take care of twenty per cent of its energy requirements.

DELL Eighty per cent is from regular sources, but is offset
through verified emission reductions and renewable energy certificates.
The company has also been able to rein in its energy usage by five per cent through installation of energy efficient systems which translates to annual savings to the tune of $3 million.
DELL Dell is also going to undertake investments in wind power
in U.S., China and India.
Furthermore, it has joined hands with Conservation International to work towards protecting the rainforests in Madagascar.

Hewlett-Packard is launching its new line of greener products with the D2545 color inkjet printer.
The Energy Star qualified printer is made of 83% recycled plastic and comes with a cartridge made of recycled plastic resins.
HP HP has several programs for recycling various products
and components from print cartridges to computer hardware.
