. It is well known , for a
long time , that cities are
the main driver of
innovation and creation
of wealth of a society ;
however , they are also
the main source of
contamination and
disease . However , many
cities can still make
improvements in
environmental quality
through specific
policies for it .
Making cities are " green and
healthy " involves much more
than simply reducing CO2
emissions . Environmental

Burj Khalifa (Burj Dubai)
The Burj Khalifa ( Khalifa Tower ) is the
tallest building in the world with a
height of 828 meters. In the building
they have involved more than 12,000
people from 30 countries. He was
formerly known as Burj Dubai ( Dubai
Tower ) .
To get an idea of its height it is best
compared with the world's most
famous skyscraper, the Empire State
of New York. 381 meters ( 431 if we
include its antenna ), the New York
skyscraper is half the Burj Khalifa.
The construction of Burj Khalifa
began on September 21, 2004
and ended on January 4, 2010 ,
over a year later than planned .
The skyscraper stands out for
having a large number of
residential floors , something
unheard of until now.

Burj Al Arab
The Burj Al Arab hotel is considered the only 7 star
hotel in the world. Since its construction has been rated
the best hotel in the world for many hoteliers .
To see what makes it so special just list
some of its characteristics : it is built on its
own artificial island 280 meters from the
coast , measures 321 meters , all rooms
are suites (the smallest 175 square meters)
and the hotel shuttle service consists of
BMWs , Rolls Royce and a private
helicopter.
Hard construction five years and the
hotel opened in December 1999.
Currently its sail-shaped structure
makes it one of the most photographed
buildings in the world .
How much sleep
on it ?
As you can imagine,
sleeping on the Burj Al
Arab is not particularly
cheap. Rates start from
€ 1,300 per night,
including breakfast ,
dates, chocolates and
even a complete set of
products for men and
women Hermes

Palm Jumeirah. Located on the coast of Dubai, the Palm
Jumeirah is one of the most popular
attractions of Dubai . It consists of a set
of artificial palm tree shaped islands
composed of a trunk , branches and a
semicircle 17 serving as breakwater.
Construction
Palm construction began in 2001 and
was completed in 2008. For the
construction sand and rocks were used
enough to form a wall six meters capable
of three times around the earth , which
provides a total area of 31 square
kilometers.
The Palm Jumeirah is part of an
ambitious project aimed at the
construction of two palms : Palm Jebel
Ali and Palm Deira , which are not
finalized.
And an important tourist attraction , The
Palm Jumeirah is a residential area filled
with hotels among which the striking

both cities.
The resemblance between the two
sources is not accidental, but have been
designed by the same engineers . The
difference between them is basically the
size , but who sees the sources of Las
Vegas not imagine something bigger, the
Dubai government not imagine having
anything smaller than another city.
The site chosen for the installation of the
Dubai Fountain is also exceptional : the
Burj Khalifa Lake . To see the fountain
from the terrace of Dubai Mall with the
tallest building in the world fund will not
leave anyone indifferent .
Specifications The Dubai Fountain measuring 275
meters ( 25 % more than the Fountains
of Bellagio) and has 6,600 lights and 50
video projectors to illuminate the water.
Its promoters are able to throw water
more than 150 meters high.

An exploration of " playful design
postwar " installation " The Brutalist
Playground" Assemble designed by
the group and by the artist Simon
Terrill , held at the RIBA Architecture
Gallery for all age groups . The
immersive installation is inspired by
different monuments of London -
Churchill Gardens, Pimlico , Estate
Brunel , Paddington and Brownfield
Estate in Poplar - where the games
were made of concrete and offered to
children abstract landscapes to be
busy and have fun .
Today , considered unsafe , these
playgrounds no longer exist , so "The
Brutalist Playground" was designed
to explore the playful side of
Brutalism .
Original playgrounds evoke the disappearance of
the world of mazes of concrete and exposed
walkways . Brechtian stage as a concrete fact ,
these refer to an earlier time, harmless jokes and
highly regulated public spaces. The recreation of
these forms is a way of hyper - brutalism invested .
Playful structures are revealed in sharp and hard
concrete forms that reference . The surreal brutalist
aesthetic limits are seen in the form of playground
"describes Terril .

It came the day he had been waiting
for a long time that some might have

others would have produced for
years. Iker Casillas stopped being a
player of Real Madrid and wanted to
say goodbye to the club where he
has been for a quarter century in a
press conference at the Santiago
Bernabeu, and no more . The white
captain will not be leaving tributes
and Porto by the back door , as if
not one of the most important
players of Real Madrid history.
It cost a lot to start with the
emotion, the tears that welled in
his eyes. "Today I have come to
this great stadium to say goodbye
to all of you and especially Real

stopped belonging to Real Madrid
, I will pass to be part of Porto .
The reasons are mainly the
illusion that I have been

Cristiano Ronaldo has already arrived in
Melbourne and is waiting for his
teammates, who will arrive at 19:00
Australian time on Monday. The
Portuguese star arrived in the Australian
city from Shanghai, China, where he was
attending various advertising
commitments (he was also in Tokyo,
Japan). Real Madrid gave him
permission not to return to Madrid and
go straight to Australia to join the rest of
the squad. The decision saved the player
15 hours of flight time from China to
Spain, and 21 from Madrid to Melbourne.
Despite the rainy weather in Melbourne, Cristiano was spotted
out and about at the Culture Kings store. Several fans
photographer him while he was shopping. Afterwards he went
to eat with friends and returned to the hotel to get some rest
under the orders of Rafa Benítez.

When you think of the future , they imagine how that will be the cities , islands ,
places we inhabit ?
According to an article in the
Huffington Post on the architecture
of the future it will be much more
dramatic than we can imagine , and
solve many of the current problems
if we let good architects do their
job. That future is closer than we
think . From a tower with rotating
floors to a park with capacity for
sewage treatment untreated until
invisible floating pools and houses.
Some examples that reflect seven
trends that will shape the
contemporary architecture of 2015
and therefore the cities in which we
live .
" Every great architect is , necessarily, a great poet. He
must be a great original interpreter of his time , his day,
his age."
Those are the words of a great undeniable architect ,
Frank Lloyd Wright, whose visions of harmonious urban
planning and innovative design have extended until
today. Wright was not only an interpreter of his time, but
was able to anticipate the needs and desires of centuries
past him . And the good architect is necessarily a
visionary able to see the future we want .
In the spirit of Wright to anticipate the future we see
trends of contemporary architecture that can shed more
light on the future of our future world.
Pag.18
2. Invisible Architecture.
The invisible architecture is the classic
card design science fiction film , but I 'm
happy to report that many architects
today are looking for this invisibility also
fully integrated into the natural
landscape . To better integrate
architecture anywhere. I love the
example barn parallelogram laminated
wood with a mirror film Stpmj architects
who designed the Socrates Sculpture
Park in Long Island ( New York). The idea
is to blur the boundaries of perception
between the object and birch populated
environment , and if they do go .
1. hypnotic Bridges Why vulgar boring
ships hanging bridges or overpasses
arched when mankind is capable of
building architectural feats best to
cross , for example, a river? The
impressive wavy design intended to
function as a pedestrian footbridge
over the Xiang River , NEXT
Architects, is an example of the
tendency to build bridges that
hypnotize us and make us want to
reach them. The original design of the
bridge hanging over the picturesque
landscape of Changsha (Hunan ,
China ) transforming . The idea won
an international competition linked to
a new public park in the area.
Pag.19
3. Small fortresses against natural
disasters. For his series " Dauphin
Island, " the artist Dionisio González has
designed futuristic dream fortresses
made of iron and concrete , merging the
role of artist with the architect , engineer
and town planner . These little peculiar
hybrid of a beach house , a bunker and a
spacecraft , buildings were designed
with the residents of Dauphin Island in
mind. Located on the coast of Alabama,
on the Gulf of Mexico , this small island
is known for experimenting catastrophic
hurricanes . When a storm hits the small
island of about 1,200 inhabitants , often
dragging much of the coast, leaving
residents homeless again and again .
González created small fortresses
hypothetical models illustrating how
these concrete structures are better
adapted to the landscape and weather
conditions .
4. Transform the green energy industry
What can you do with an outdated power
plant when it becomes obsolete in the
future? Why not give the industrial
facility a green makeover ? We can get
you the industrial heritage fulfills two
functions : to beautify a place and
provide a new way of dealing with CO2
emissions .
Here's how it would work : architecture
firm AZPA (Alejandro Zaera- Polo
Architecture ) plans to convert Wedel
Vattenfall Central existing in Germany in
a new industrial complex , which is built
from previous installations and wrapped
with a skin corrugated plants vine . This
strategically placed not only softens the
skin exterior aesthetics of the plant, but
that would create a sheath vines to
absorb CO2 emissions .
Pag.20
5. floating pools .
It's hard not to love this project the
Spree River and has become an icon.
Fernando Menis pool thought and
designed to Berlin has already become
an icon that cuts through the murky
waters of allowing them the bathroom
and enjoyment. The project transformed
a large industrial transport barge floating
in a pool. If there are pools in our future,
I would love to have all this subtlety .
The architects have become a lost
tradition in a poetic experience and
Berliners have gained a whole new
perspective of the city. 6. Inflatable concert halls
From the outside it resembles a
giant purple bean , and inside
looks more like a bright shell. But
this form of globe is actually the
first inflatable concert hall in the
world, called " Arca Nova. " The
fabulous British sculptor Anish
Kapoor and the Japanese architect
Arata Isozaki came together to
create the structure with the
intention of touring the areas of
Japan affected by the 2011
earthquake and tsunami. It is a
novel idea that could become a
design strategy in many other
fields.
Pag.21
Pag.22
7. sponge Parks .
It's no secret that the Gowanus Canal , New York , is a breeding ground for toxic
waste , contaminated runoff and sewage. However , a small project known as "
Sponje Park " is the hope of transforming the local environment a cleaner
Brooklyn sanctuary. Dlandstudio architecture firm has designed a system of
dampers between landscape and wetlands to slow down, absorb and filter
polluted runoff of sewage before it reaches the canal. Specially selected plants
metabolize pollutants and heavy metals in polluted water .

Samsung Galaxy S6 - Design & Finish.
We had to wait until the sixth generation to see a completely new design. At first we
all thought it would be aluminum , but Samsung has surprised us with a rear glass
protected with Gorilla Glass 4. Of course, the other inside edge and aluminum.
The first feeling that I had to get my
hands is pretty good. The Galaxy S6 is
a slim and stylish smartphone, but
without necessarily being too sensitive
. It can handle comfortably, without
feeling that we are going to slip out of
his hands. The fact that the side edges
of metal have a song helps grip and
personally is something that I liked .
Furthermore, the upper and lower
edges themselves are rounded .
Although this is a metal body weight not
affected . Specifically, the Galaxy S6
weighs 138 grams . Now if it is heavier
than the Galaxy S4 , which was 130
grams, but is lighter than its
predecessor, the S5 ( 145 grams).
On the right side we have the
power button located in a central
position so that access to it is
done in a more convenient way .
Under him the SIM card slot is
located. By the way, does not
bring the microSD card slot , but
two years of service in onedrive
Microsof with up to 100 GB , to
which we must add 15 GB of
welcome. On the other side we
have separate volume buttons . I
have to say that the buttons feel
firm and denote very good
quality.

The different or different types of foundations
are classified from the point of view of
construction in two types, in the following
ways :
Surface foundations :
• Isolated footings .
• braced footings.
• footings and foundation beams .
• Pops shoes.
• slabs of constant thickness.
• Slabs with capitals .
• ribbed slabs .
• floating slabs .
• Deep Foundations :
• precast piles . • Piles in situ.
Pag.27
Shallow foundations .
SHOE . Shoes " foundations in isolated areas of the structure " are the most used types
and is used when the soil has on its surface a medium or high resistance with
respect to the homogeneous estructura.Es loads to be affected by differential
settlement between the various parties.
Footings .
They are of a specific, generally are
constituted by given square concrete .
Shoe foundations generally are the
types most commonly used both for
its economy and its simplicity of
construction .
SHOES braced .
They are ad hoc basis and work
independently , but are linked by a chain
supported the field which is designed to
prevent relative horizontal movement
between isolated footings or for attaching a
shoe isolated on a run function.
SHOES AND FOUNDATION BEAMS .
The foundation beam is a structural
element that can take loads and
transmit them to isolated wall footings.
There may be several reasons for
wanting to design shoes with
foundation beams .
Footings .
In the case of aligned pillars in close
proximity to walls , or to balance
eccentric loads on adjacent shoes it is
considered directly employing a
continuous shoe or shoe
Pag.28
SLAB .
Slabs " foundation over the entire surface of the structure "
used in less resistant or less homogeneous land or under less
resistant structures ..
CONSTANT THICKNESS SLAB .
It has the advantage of its
simplicity of implementation. If
loads and lights are not important
savings can offset forms the
largest volume of concrete
required .
SLAB WITH CAPITALS .
They are used to thicken under the
pillars and improve resistance to
bending and shear . The capitals may be
higher or lower than the latter having the
advantage of the excavation carried out
on flat surface leaving the basement .
RIBBED SLAB .
Low key nerves pillars and other
Secondary nerves may be higher or
lower , in the case of higher nerves
formwork it is more complicated , and
the use of a lightweight filler
agglomerate and separate screed is
often necessary to make the surface flat
higher. The lower ribs can be made on
the excavation.
FLOATING SLAB When it is necessary to build very
sensitive structures settlements in
poor soils may be resorted to
floating foundations crockery . The
foundation must be of dimensions
such that the weight of the volume
of earth moved product is similar
to the weight load of the structure.
In this way the load conditions on
the surface of subgrade
theoretically not been modified by
the construction , so it will be
reasonable to assume that the
settlements will be low or zero.
Pag.29
DEEP FOUNDATIONS .
PILES .
Long as a stake , wood , iron and
concrete , which is driven into the
ground , either to support a load ,
transmitting more resistant to lower
layers , either to compress and increase
the compactness of the layers of
underlying land piece.
PILOTING .
A pilot is a foundation consisting of
a footing or pile cap which rests on
a pile or group of columns inserted
deep in the ground to transmit its
load to the same .
Precast piles .
These are driven into the ground by
hammer -type machines . They are
relatively expensive because they must
be heavily armed to withstand the
stresses occurring during transport ,
lifting and driving . They can cause
disturbances in the ground and nearby
structures during piling , have the
advantage that the driving test is a good
load.
