Visualization PostDoc Position

We’re looking for a great PostDoc to work on a range of visualization projects, including but not lim-

ited to visualization for biology, graph visualization, big data visualization, and heterogeneous data

visualization.

Ideally, you have experience in writing papers, developing software, preferably for the web, and have

a track record of published work at VIS, EuroVis, CHI, BioVis, or similar venues.

More Information about this position can be found at http://goo.gl/GJtcca

Call for Visualization PhD StudentsWe are looking to admit multiple PhD Students to work on visualization topics. Funding is available.

If you’re interested in a great PhD program, like to do research, and enjoy building software apply to

our graduate program. We are a large and diverse community of visualization researchers with in-

terdisciplinary interests.

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Visualization for Biology at Harvard University

The Visual Computing Group (VCG) in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) at Harvard University seeks motivated postdoctoral fellows with a Ph.D. in computer science/engineering, bioinformatics, or a related field to work on varied research projects in visual data analysis. Potential candidates should possess a strong background in the fields of visualization and visual analytics, bioinformatics or similar areas to conduct visualization projects applied to biological and biochemical data. In addition to working closely with scientists, industry partners, and graduate students on research projects, the candidate is expected to actively participate in writing grant proposals.

More information about the VCG can be found at http://vcg.seas.harvard.edu/.

Candidates should have a substantial publication history (preferred venues are IEEE InfoVis, IEEE VAST, BioVis, Bioinformatics, Nature Methods, and BMC Bioinformatics), a good standing in the research community, as well as good teamwork and communication skills. Ideally, the candidate also has strong software development experience, especially for web-based applications. Competitive salary and benefits are included. The position is available immediately. For more information, please send your CV and at least three references to Michaela Kapp at michaela@seas.harvard.edu.
