- Discarded electrical or electronic devices.

- Used electronics which are destined for reuse, resale, salvage, recycling or disposal.

- Planned obsolescence have resulted in a fast-growing production of e-waste.

- Lack of green sites - Tend to buy new electronic devices

- Easy to buy, hard to repair

E-waste background

- E-waste is around the 5% of all solid waste worldwide.

- Only around 12.5% of e-waste is being recycled.

- The process of dismantling e-waste leads to several environmental hazards.

- Groundwater and river pollution and hydrocarbon emissions.

- To check people’s awareness about e-waste, a quiz has been created.

- We reported 24 samples about respondents, most of them university students.

- When their devices are broken, people tend to buy a new one, but they prefer to keep with them the old ones.

- In general terms, they are aware about the e-waste, but they don’t participate in an active manner.

- Governments and institutions should promote e-waste concerns and long-term risks.
