Jewellery Curator and global Jewellery Influencer, Liza Urla has been creating quite a stir in the jewellery industry and is known for her exquisite taste and fashion flair paired with European attitude and Asian upbringing. Born in the Far East of Russia, she lived in London, NYC and Vienna, completed a BSc Management and MSc in Finance and interned for Goldman Sachs, Accenture and BP.

Starting off her jewellery career as a Gemmology student at GIA NYC, she has collaborated with countless jewellery brands in the US, Europe and the Middle East including Chanel, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Bulgari, and she currently has over 300,000 followers. Liza’s goal is to encourage, educate, and inspire all women across the globe through her personal style. She is now one of the most influential digital jewellery tastemakers. Her jewellery influence has been acknowledged by Financial Times, Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.

Initially, Urla wanted to take photographs of jewellery worn by strangers she met on her globetrotting adventures. However, the project grew, and she founded GEMOLOGUE.COM, stands for “a dialogue about gems”, in December 2009 where she celebrates fine, costume and vintage jewellery in fashion and travelling context. Liza Urla takes her followers on her personal jewellery journey, curating her favourite pieces from prestigious events, trade shows and boutiques all over the world. Discovering stunning jewels is the raison d’etre of GEMOLOGUE which is in Top 5 Jewellery Blogs in the world and won Best Blog in Fashion Category at UK Blog Awards.

From April 2018, Liza Urla will launch an instant classic for jewellery- lovers, first street style book dedicated to jewellery. Featuring inspirational and eye-catching photographs, encompassing costume and tribal jewellery as well as fine, the book combines street-style photographs with Liza’s signature styling creations in fashion context.The purpose of the book is to inspire fashion and jewellery lovers to find their own style by leafing through the pages of captivating street style.

Liza Urla was the face of Meira T. Meira T is a well-known jewellery brand in the US. Their pieces are sold in over 50 points-of-sale, worldwide. The campaign shoot took place around Central Park, Fifth Avenue. The campaign was featured on UK’s largest indoor advertising screen in Harrods.

VAN CLEEF & ARPELS AT LEIGHTON HOUSE MUSEUM

Liza Urla collaborated with Van Cleef & Arpels famous for their butterfly creations and exquisite jewellery to put together an editorial shoot. Van Cleef & Arpels closed off the Leighton House Museum to the public for a day. The Leighton House paintings and the ornaments serve an inspiration to produce a timeless editorial featuring Van Cleef and Arpels high jewellery collection worth £1m.

CHANEL AT CHISWICK HOUSE

Liza Urla collaborated with CHANEL Fine Jewellery to put together an editorial shoot superimposing CHANEL’s high jewellery featuring Coco Chanel’s talisman flower against camellias in bloom at Chiswick House. Chanel closed off the Camellia Show at Chiswick House to the public for a day, so that GEMOLOGUE could shoot the jewellery in absolute privacy.
